Job Summary: Anchor/Reporters possess exceptional on-air presence, strong journalistic instincts, and a passion for storytelling. From anchoring newscasts to reporting on general news, breaking news and feature stories, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality content that informs, educates, and inspires our audience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary on-air talent for assigned newscasts, delivering news with authority, credibility, and professionalism. Engage with viewers and provide context and analysis on key stories.
  • Research, develop, and report on a wide range of news stories, including breaking news, investigative reports, and feature segments. Conduct interviews, gather information, and present findings in a clear, compelling manner.
  • Cover live events, including breaking news, press conferences, and community gatherings, both in-studio and on-location. Adhere to deadlines and provide live updates as events unfold.
  • Generate story ideas, pitch segment proposals, and collaborate with producers and editors to develop compelling content for newscasts and digital platforms.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with newsmakers, community leaders, and experts, asking insightful questions and eliciting meaningful responses.
  • Uphold journalistic standards, ethics, and best practices in all aspects of reporting and storytelling. Ensure accuracy, fairness, and balance in coverage.
  • Foster meaningful connections with our audience through social media engagement, community outreach, and participation in public events.
  • Stay informed about current events, industry trends, and emerging technologies in broadcast journalism.
  • Maintain appropriate on-air appearance, including adhering to company wardrobe, haircare and makeup guidelines and recommendations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including driving an automobile for company business.

Job Schedule: This is a full-time position primarily working 40 hours per week. You may also be called upon at times to fill in other hours and days of the week to help cover vacations, illnesses, breaking news, severe weather, or special projects/events. This position is not eligible to work remotely.

Skills and Requirements:

Formal education equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field. Related experience will be evaluated by Company management and may be substituted on the basis of two years of experience equals one year of education.
Minimum one-year anchor experience in local television news, including writing, producing, and anchoring.
Strong on-air presence, with excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with viewers.
Proficiency in news gathering techniques, including research, interviewing, and fact-checking.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content creation tools.
Commitment to journalistic integrity, accuracy, and ethical standards.
Link of work sample required.
Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and have a driving record acceptable to the company.
Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Capable of handling the physical and mental requirements including:
