St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU, St. Louis' NPR station located in Grand Center, is seeking a dynamic full-time Afternoon Host/Announcer to join our team. Responsibilities include hosting our afternoon drive-time shift that includes NPR's All Things Considered and APM's Marketplace, preparing for and conducting live or recorded interviews for use during our regionally produced talk show, St. Louis on the Air, serving as a back-up host for SLOTA, recording opens and closes for use on various platforms including NPR One, producing and editing promos and features, and other on-air production.
The successful candidate for this opening should have strong on-air fundraising experience and the ability to emcee and represent our organization in the public at various events and functions.
The Afternoon Host/Announcer is expected to stay up-to-date on the latest news and information about our region, nation, and world to relate relevant and timely information to our audiences, on-air and online.
A Bachelor's degree in broadcast, communications, or multimedia, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in broadcast or production, including at least 3 years as an on-air host, is preferred.
