Colorado Public Radio News is expanding and has a brand new opportunity for a Regional Reporter Southern Colorado. The Regional Reporter Southern Colorado develops the geographic beat that spans from Colorado Springs to the New Mexico border and to the eastern and western reaches of the region. This reporter covers developments in all areas CPR News covers - education, environment, government, health, arts, business and the stories that define the place - producing newscast items and daily and in-depth feature reports for radio, digital and social media platforms.

Colorado is a great place to live and work. Known for its sunshine; incredible access to outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and golf;  world-renowned art museums and thriving arts scene; terrific restaurants; and year-round events there is something to appeal to everyone.

Skills:
Identification with the mission and purpose of Colorado Public Radio.
Minimum of 3 years journalism experience.
Broadcast experience preferred, public radio experience ideal.
High-level writing and editing skills, demonstrated ability to identify key developments and distill complex matters.
Able to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, juggle multiple tasks.

Position is based in Colorado Springs or elsewhere in the region and requires working non-standard hours and some travel.
